Here is a piece of art that doesn’t get enough recognition: the World Fantasy Award. It is a terrific prize, despite its comics-averse stodginess, and the statue is designed by the marvelous Gahan Wilson. It’s a bust of disturbed and disturbing horror writer H.P. Lovecraft, and it is available here for your perusal in the form of Jack Vance’s award for “Madouc.”
The next one of these will be handed out at the World Fantasy Convention, which starts on Halloween, of course.
