Where’s My U.S. Black Mirror Broadcast?

28 Mar

This show, for the uninitiated, appears to be a British version of “The Twilight Zone” (yes, that link takes you to Hulu where you can watch The Twilight Zone, which you should ALWAYS do) with several of my favorite writers either working for or expressing boundless admiration for it; why can’t I watch The Black Mirror?

International TV rights are a snake’s nest of exclusive windows and sweetheart deals, but most shows manage to emerge eventually. What the heck’s going on with this one? It looks fun, appealing to Americans (or anybody who likes SF, really) and nobody has distribution rights for it yet. There’s not even a Region 1 DVD release, and this guy Charlie Brooker is supposed to be the next big thing.

So what I’m saying is “get on the stick, every network.” Do it NOW.

I know! And it’s SO DARK. Dark fantasy isn’t that hard, but dark SF I tend to love.

Have you heard about the LivesOn twitter app? Basically the first episode of the new season is becoming reality

Yeah, none of it really seems that far-fetched, I’m sorry to say.
